The Postnatal Course
The postnatal course takes place on Wednesdays but of course with the babies! It is every other week, over an 8 week period. The Course includes postnatal support as required, a baby massage session to learn some techniques with Charyn from Mama Baby Bliss, a session with experienced women’s health physio Chrissie Edley about your postnatal body plus a session with Sammy from Happy Hearts First Aid on baby and toddler first aid. It primarily gives you the time and space to discuss you and your postnatal recovery – everything else is about your baby, but this is about YOU! We reflect on how you’re doing and I cover relaxation techniques from my hypnobirthing course to help with early parenting, feeding and bonding! You also get access to an online course on using slings and carriers with Tessa from Beyond Babyhood!
*Plus* we want to get partners involved too! We’re now organising a 2 hour weekend first aid session with Happy Hearts First Aid in addition to the postnatal course that’s just for partners to discuss new parenthood and learn the valuable first aid techniques that have been covered by you in the postnatal course.
The Prestwood postnatal course which has mums from local villages as well as High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Amersham, Chesham and Wendover takes place on Wednesday mornings at Nanfans Ballet School in Prestwood.
The Cookham postnatal course takes place on Wednesday afternoons In Cookham and has mums from Marlow, Maidenhead, Bourne End, Wooburn Green and surrounding villages.
The postnatal course includes plenty of tea, cake and biscuits which is even more crucial now that you’re taking care of a tiny human! (and doing a great job at it!) The mums also go for a pub lunch after the last session, which is usually a tradition that continues after the course has long finished! The postnatal course can also be bought as a gift/baby shower present which is a popular option!
*The course is on Zoom at the moment but we are working on a plan for it to be face to face again!*
