Book your space at a Sling Library meet
This is where you can book your free space at a sling library in Buckinghamshire & Middlesex. At one of our popular sling library meets you can get support with your own carriers/slings or get support and hire one of ours. Find out more information about our sling library here!
You can book your space for free or donate £5 to support the running of the sling library. Registering online means we can contact you if the times change or the meet is cancelled for any reason but if you cannot make the date anymore, you don’t have to contact us so please don’t worry.
If you want more support than a 5-10 minute chat at a meet, we also offer 1:1 sessions at your home or at our venue in Wendover where we can discuss carrying your baby in more length.
If you have any questions, contact Sophie at sophie@thevillagemidwife.co.uk

Hiring a sling/nappies via our website means you have read and agree to the below:
When using a hired carrier or Nappy your child’s safety is your responsibility. All slings and nappies in our library are very safe when used correctly, however misuse can cause injury to the wearer and/or child.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are using the sling/ nappy correctly and that your baby/ child is safe at all times when using the sling.
Always follow instructions carefully (you can look up specific manufacturers guidelines online) and check for signs of wear and tear so as not to put your child at risk.
Checking out via our website and hiring a sling/carrier means you have checked and confirmed that the sling/ nappies are in working order. Please check all buckles, hems and seams ensuring that there are no tears, breaks, cracks or holes.
If any damage is discovered, stop using the sling immediately and contact us.
We suggest that, after familiarising yourself with the instructions given, you then practise using the sling with a doll/teddy or cushion/pillow so that you get used to the tying/fastening/adjusting methods. It is also sensible to have another adult present on the first couple of occasions you put your child in the sling.
Should the items be lost/ damaged/ *returned soiled (nappies MUST be clean on return) beyond normal wear and tear - you will be liable for the cost of the replacement.
Care
Please take good care of the sling/nappies and any accessories so that they can be used to help more parents in future. Please keep the sling away from anything which could permanently stain (oil, paint, ink etc) or damage it (scissors, Velcro, keys in your bag, fire etc).
Please return the sling in a clean, usable condition but do not launder the sling. If the sling becomes dirty please carefully spot clean using water and a soft cloth. If the sling is heavily soiled please contact us for advice as the cleaning instructions are restrictive and you may damage the sling if done incorrectly.
Nappies must be cleaned before you use them and must be returned clean. Please only wash the nappies with non bio powder and NO fabric softener which includes 3 in 1 type washing methods. Please do not wash the nappies with other dark items that could cause discolouring.
